faces…
I was asked several times why do I present only photos that are “beauty-fying” reality, why do not shoot things or people like they are in real life, with their ups and downs, the ugly truth, the everyday living or struggle…
I picked up my film camera 19 years ago, having no idea what to do, not even knowing what this little thing in my hands could do. I was only spellbound by the magic of the dark room and how a silhouette on a piece of plastic film could in just seconds appear as a real image on a paper… Since then, I got to knew and respect photography though a lot of trials and errors: street photography, art photography, abstract, nature morte, strobe etc… but never portraits. I couldn’t dare to pick up my camera and shoot people… plain faces! Up until 7 years ago… and then I realised the beauty of portraits.
The stories that eyes can say,

that wrinkles can whisper,

and smiles or frowns can shout.

I was in love!.. in love with portraits that could tell a whole story

or just lock a single moment…

Isn’t that life after all? and we all need some beauty in our lives, in every form we can get it!
